Peyto Lake is a beautiful glacier fed lake which is situated along the spectacular Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park.
The lake and glacier were named after Bill Peyto, a well known English guide,prospector and Park Warden.
It is situated roughly 40 kms from Lake Louise. A short uphill walk from the parking lot will take you to the
Peyto Lake Viewpoint. This particular point called Bow Summit and Bow Pass is situated at an elevation of
2 088 m (6 849 ft.) above sea level.
In the distance you can see the Mistaya River Valley.
