Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook makes for a wonderful day trip out of Montreal. The park is
situated in the Eastern Townhips of Quebec, a 2 hour drive (178kms) south of Montreal.
The main attraction is a suspended footbridge which stretches across the Coaticook River
at a height of 50 metres and 169 metres (555 feet) in length.
The park comprises an area of 615 acres in size. It offers various activities such as hiking,
mountain biking, camping, horseback riding and picnic areas. There are two main hiking trails that combine
into a distance of 9.5 kms. The most popular trail where the suspension bridge is 3.5 km in length.
Allow 1 to 1.5 hrs for this section. You'll also find 2 observation towers which offer great views
of the surrounding countryside and a bird tower for viewing fauna.
